Alternative Legal IT Conference Exceeds All Expectations For Legal Technology Specialists, Netprotocol
3 min read.
Born out of the legal sector almost 25 years ago, Netprotocol couldn't have selected a more suitable technology event to attend than the Alternative Legal IT Conference, now celebrating its fourteenth year.
Delighted to experience its first Alternative Legal IT conference - which is now in its 14th year - Netprotocol recently presented on cloud technology strategies at the largest and longest-running Legal IT event, for mid-market law firms in the UK.
As the only event to host all three decision makers - IT Directors, Managing Partners and FDs - this was an invitation only opportunity and brought together some fantastic law professionals over two days. We entered into some inspiring industry debate - whilst taking great interest in the unique and insightful content a hand-picked advisory board had prepared for the attendees.
A Topic High On The Agenda Of Law Firms
Technical Director and Founder of Netprotocol, Mike Batters delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the future of the cloud. Delegates at the event were clearly adopting cloud technologies, however possibly didn't understand the various options available to them outside of public cloud solutions (ie AWS, Azure etc) - including the benefits that private or hybrid alternatives would offer to them.
Mike advised and consulted on how to establish the best approach to deploying a resilient and secure cloud strategy - placing a focus on developing a thorough understanding of each firms individual business objectives, in order to create a tailored IT strategy which underpins these.
Mike went on to explain...
"The Alternative Legal IT event was an extremely well organised legal networking show; we came away feeling greatly rewarded, having learnt a lot about the evolving technology needs of law firms. There is definitely no one size that fits all in this complex sector - and so designing a bespoke cloud-based solution which meets a business' individual goals, is key to achieving long-term ROI."
A special mention goes to our prize winners, having visited the Netprotocol stand:
Angela Skuce – Head of IT at Anthony Collins Solicitors
Maxine Heppenstall – Managing Partner at Walker Foster Ltd
A Unique Learning Opportunity
As a service provider to the legal sector, the opportunity to network was invaluable for Netprotocol, offering unique learning experiences which the IT consultancy had not encountered previously. Coupled with a flexible and relaxed approach which placed everybody at ease; food, drinks, accommodation and entertainment were top notch - leaving their team and the delegates to focus on what they were there for.
It was genuinely a privilege to be part of the Alternative Legal IT event this year and we look forward to keeping touch with all the new contacts we made over the course of the two days.
