BREAKING NEWS: HPE to acquire Nimble Storage
This week represents a moment of history in the world of storage as Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company (HPE) announce their definitive agreement to acquire Nimble Storage, a leading provider of predictive all-flash and hybrid-flash storage solutions. This represents remarkable success and achievement from Nimble since their inception in 2008, following the launch of their new series of Predictive All-Flash Arrays in 2016.
Naturally HPE sees this as an opportunity to expand its product portfolio, taking on Nimble’s technology innovation which enables applications to perform without disruption. This will continue to be the focus of their technology combined with their 3 primary aims of providing:
- Reliably fast performance
- Radically simple operations
- Efficient, cost effective arrays and converged infratstructure
“As a partner successful with both HPE and Nimble, I see this as great opportunity for the future,” Technical Director and Founder at NETprotocol, Mike Batters tells us. “HPE’s scale combined with the “next generation” technology Nimble’s reputation is built on, can only be a good thing and will ultimately deliver a rue hyper converged solution. We are keen to understand what the future holds.”
Nimble’s predictive all-flash offerings for the entry to midrange segments are complementary to HPE’s scalable midrange to high-end 3PAR solutions and affordable MSA products. The plan is to also incorporate Nimble’s InfoSight Predictive Analytics platform across HPE’s storage portfolio, which will enable a stronger, simplified support experience for customers.
As significant as innovation has been to Nimble in the development of their technology, their intense focus on customer satisfaction remains to be of critical importance and so plans are in place to further invest in a transformed and proactive experience, enabled by InfoSight and world-class support teams.
The acquisition by HPE can only be seen as a strong endorsement of the Nimble Storage technology and assures accelerated investment in technology leadership going forward.
“We look forward to continued success through our long-standing partnerships and knowledge of both HPE’s and Nimble’s technologies,” Mike Batters concludes.
