The Challenge
Thompsons was undertaking a major shift in its IT strategy.
The firm was:
- Moving away from Citrix to thick-client laptops
- Rolling out new devices across the organisation
- Transitioning to a softphone-based telephony model
- Facing end-of-life core data centre hardware
- Approaching MPLS contract renewal

The Solution

The programme included:
- Replacement of primary data centre hardware and establishment of a second site
- Migration from MPLS to Fortinet SD-WAN across 17+ locations
- Full wired and wireless network refresh
- Deployment of HPE GreenLake private cloud
- Seamless migration to laptop-based workflows
The transformation was delivered within 12 months, with systems migrated service-by-service and near-zero unplanned downtime.
