“We chose Netprotocol over a decade ago, and the network has run smoothly ever since, which has been incredibly valuable to us”

Leeds United's top priority for their network infrastructure is to ensure uninterrupted operation both at the stadium and around the clock. Netprotocol currently manages and supports the entire network.

Leeds United was founded in 1919 at Elland Road Stadium in Leeds, which, with a seating capacity of nearly 38,000, is the 14th largest football ground in England. Over the years, the stadium has seen numerous renovations, including new stands, executive suites, banqueting facilities, and enhanced security features, with plans for further expansion.

Behind these public-facing facilities lies a high-capacity network, deployed and managed by Netprotocol for over a decade. Netprotocol, a platinum-level Allied Telesis technology partner, is responsible for maintaining and supporting the entire network infrastructure.

The team's promotion to the Premier League in 2022 led to significant upgrades in services and networking to meet the matchday demands of the press, travelling teams, security, and more.

Leeds United’s network model is unique due to the variety of businesses it encompasses. Netprotocol refers to them as "microcosms" because each has different networking needs. These include the back-office, call center, hospitality areas, ticketing booths, press box, and shops, all of which experience varying foot traffic. A critical component is the CCTV security system, which supports several hundred cameras throughout the stadium. These diverse requirements demand high reliability and performance.

In addition to Elland Road, the club's day-to-day operations also take place at their training ground, 20 km away, which is integrated into the network and connects to the main stadium for centralised management.
