Ambitious Growth Plans for Legal IT Experts
Legal IT specialist NETprotocol, with offices based in Manchester and Leeds, has announced ambitious growth plans for 2016. NETprotocol has just moved into their new 3000 square foot office near Leeds and following significant recent investment, is looking to double staff headcount in the next 12 months.
Established in 2000, NETprotocol was set up by friends Paul Walker and Mike Batters. They met working for Axxia Systems, one of the oldest vendors of IT management systems for the legal sector.
Mike Batters, Technical Director and Co-Founder, says: “Through our time working closely with solicitors we built up a detailed picture of what a legal firm needs from first-class document storage and network security to business continuity and disaster recovery. As every firm is different, we have developed a technical team and solutions portfolio which enables us to offer a tailored approach depending on individual requirements. We work with any size of legal business, from small practices to Fortune 500 companies. And 15 years on, we are celebrating the 15th year of working with our very first client Hempsons, the largest specialist health and social care legal practice in the UK.”
NETprotocol prides itself on providing scalable and cost-effective solutions which offer a clear return on investment for its clients, including cloud-based options, on-premise or a mixture of the two. They select the best technologies from world-renowned companies such as HPE, Intel Security, Citrix, and Proofpoint. As one of only a handful of UK resellers certified to the highest level in their technology platforms, they are able to offer solutions which meet the supreme standards of the legal sector, centred around needs for meeting compliance, data security and maximising operational efficiency.
‘We have built up a very close and trusted relationship with NETprotocol over the last 15 years and today work hand in hand with their technical team to ensure our IT budget is fully aligned with our overall business strategy’, said Brett Raymond (Head of IT at Hempsons). ‘This has involved enabling projects such as office expansion, infrastructure refresh, network security and Disaster Recovery. Where NETprotocol’s effective management of our IT infrastructure on a daily basis, has been crucial to the performance of the business’, he added.
As well as the everyday challenges of IT, legal firms are heavily regulated because of the confidential nature of their work. NETprotocol has become an expert at ensuring the many strict guidelines are met. The standards the IT firm has become accustomed to providing, together with an increased need for regulatory compliance in other sectors has presented ongoing opportunities for growth, meaning the company has expanded organically in to new markets including the educational sector and both financial and professional services firms.
With many of their most longstanding clients based in London, they also plan to grow geographically. Now they’ve met their goal of expanding the northern offices, Directors Mike and Paul have their sights set on an office in the capital city, home to a large proportion of Britain’s top law firms.
“We were flattered to hear one of our clients refer to us recently as ‘the legal sector’s best-kept secret’,” says Managing Director Paul Walker. “We’ve established our reputation for providing premier and completely reliable IT solutions which allow legal professionals to concentrate on what they do best. With the help of our growing team in Yorkshire, we are looking forward to making the next 15 years our most successful yet.”
