Microsoft welcomes 2011 with new Vulnerability Admission for Windows

Happy New year!..... Well, unless you are affected by the latest exploit of Microsoft's Windows O/S that is.

Today, the software giant has released details of a newly discovered vulnerability affecting the Graphics Rendering Engine of most of their operating systems including XP, Vista, Server 2003 and some versions of Server 2008. This 'exploit' could potentially allow an attacker to install and run malicious code, change or delete data or even create new user accounts with full administrator rights.

According to Microsoft, Windows Server 2008 R2 an Windows 7 are not affected by this vulnerability.

If you are worried that your systems are not fully protected, or would like to investigate how NETprotocol can help you migrate to unaffected operating systems, give us a call on 0161 7962211.
