Facebook Becoming a Target for Cybercrime
With social networking being an activity that many of us use for a variety of purposes I would recommend reading the below link which highlights the concerns of such sites being used by hackers to steal personal information or potentially something more malicious. During the last week alone, there have been 5 attempts by hackers which have highlighted vulnerabilities within Facebook and have shown how quickly these attacks can spread.

The problem seems to be with the fact that applications can be created by anyone and are not reviewed by Facebook before being added to the site allowing potentially harmful applications to be submitted unchecked. I would advise that if you are unsure of a request or notification being legitimate that you do not respond to this and you may also want to be a little more wary about what information you make available within your profile.
