As Adobe publishes patches for Acrobat Reader to remove the vulnerabilities attackers download these patches and reverse engineer them to enable them to understand and make use of the exploit. As many users ignore acrobat updates or only patch infrequently these exploits remain available to attackers for extended periods of time.
To enable attackers to quickly and easily make use of these exploits "toolkits" have been created, enabling more novice attackers access to the vulnerabilities.
