Specialist Requirements

Consulting Process

As part of the consulting process NETprotocol works with its client to identify any specialist requirements for the solutions. These may vary from environmental factors such as hardware tolerance to vibration or manufacturing interference on communtions to functionality such as remote access capabilities allowing staff to work from any location or provision for specific software. Once these specialst requirements have been carefully identified NETprotocol can then design a solution to meets these needs.

NETprotocol not only undertakes consultation work on technical and solution design matters but also in other areas including:

  • Evaluation of proposed software
  • I.T. Staffing Levels & Skills assements
  • Strategic Planning
Existing Specialist Knowledge

Since NETprotocol's formation there has always been a strong link with the legal marketplace and this gives us wealth of knowledge of the specialist requriements usually found in legal practices and methods by whcih these requirements can be best serviced.

This knowledge also streches to the technical requirements of many pieces of specific legal software such as Axxia Systems' "Case Manager" product, Laserforms Legal Forms software, Solicitec's "SolCase"/"Visual Files" products and many more. NETprotocol has designed and implemented many systems designed to support these applications in a Thin-Client environment (Citrix Metaframe). Legal Case Management applications are generally based around a central database and constantly read & write to & from this database. For multi-site organisations this can mean that, if the software were to be implemented in a traditional client-server style, the bandwidth requirements for the sites which are remote from the database can be prohibitvley expensive.

Thin-Client technology running these same applications can dramatically reduce these year-on-year costs for WAN bandwidth, I.T. Department staff costs and provide organisations with a financially viable method of running a Case Management system. To date NETprotocol has delivered these legal applications to 2,500+ users and many of the organisations involved in this are now wanting to deliver all application to all users using thin-client solutions, which would take the users count to in excess of 3,000 users within law firms. For more information on the benefits of thin-client comuting please click here.

The critical advantage that NETprotocol holds is not just knowing how to make the software work in a thin-client environment, but it is the knowledge of how to make the software perform at its best. This requires and understanding of the application and what resources it will draw upon most. This enables us to examine the bigger picture and deliver performance in all the key areas to enable to software.

In addition to NETprotocol's technical and strategic consulting services we have also recently formed a partnership with a group Legal Consulting specialists who can provide:-

  • Business Strategy Development
  • Legal Technology (Case Management systems) selection consultation
  • Quality Standards (Lexel, Barmark etc) Introduction
  • Marketing Services
  • and many more.

Through this Partnership NETprotocol can provide a complete Legal Consulting service to assist with a wide range of business elements.
