In most cases the services provided by any server are mission
critical and becuase of this NETprotocol only recommends server
hardware that can be backed up by the highest quality of support
from the manufacturer. This along with many other factors, such
as server resilience to failure & available technology,
has lead NETprotocol to recommend Compaq servers.
Compaq are constantly building on thier technology and a key
feature that is of importance to many of our clients is predictive
hardware failure. The new Compaq Insight Management Suite warns
systems administrators if system components are displays symptoms
that they may soon fail, therefore allowing preventetive steps
to be taken. This, in conjunction with the Compaq Carepaq hardware
support service, creates server solutions which set a new precedent
in terms of minimal server downtime due to hardware failure.
Compaq (HP) provide a broad range of servers within the Proliant
server range to suit the needs of most organisations. Through
long-term experience of working with the Proliant server range
NETprotocol has developed server specifications ideal for all
the common uses such as File & Print, Exchange, SQL and
Metaframe servers. These server specifications are constantly
updated as the server range develops and so the latest version
of the ML & DL class servers are used. Information on the
lastest Proliant ML & DL Servers can be found on the Hewlett
Packard web site.
As applications improve and are enhanced with additional features
additional storage space is also often required. NETprotocol
designs scalable storage solutions to allow the easy addition
of additional storage without re-investing in the base hardware.
Many of the scaleable solutions implemented to date can be expanded
to incorporate several terrabytes of data storage, as requried.
Along with the common server specification NETprotocol has
the experience to design servers to suit indivdiual organisations
needs, such as SCO/Informix dataabse server tailored to current
and expected database growth.
