Hempsons select NETprotocol & ProofPoint for e-mail security solution

Hempsons Solicitors have chosen NETprotocol to deliver ProofPoint Regulatory Compliance and Secure Messaging solution to provide control and protection to all e-mails.

Hempsons role as a major provider of legal services to numerous health care organisations requires them to handle large volumes of patient, medical practitioner and general health care information. In addition to their health care specialisation they provide services and advice to many corporate clients and private individuals many of whom will exchange confidential information via e-mail.

This project will ensure e-mails containing sensitive data will be detected and encrypted to protect the content for interception or unauthorised access. Proofpoints Secure Messaging module allows e-mails to be encrypted to any recipient without prior knowledge or configuration, therefore making comprehensive e-mail security an easily realisable goal.

NETprotocol has gained Proofpoint partner status with a view to utilising Proofpoint's Data Loss Prevention and Secure Messaging solutions to deliver high quality confidential & personal data security and e-mail encryption.

 New Secure Firewall Features

Secure Computing's Secure Firewall product continues to grow in the strength of protection offered through the addition of Geo-Location and Trusted Source Filtering.

Geo-Location filtering enables administrators to make traffic filtering decisions based on the source or destination country, saving on Firewall workload in actual packet / protocol inspection for traffic which does not need to be admitted.

Trusted Source filtering enables administrators to take advantage of the comprehensive IP reputation database built by Secure Computing's internet listeners and feedback from all SC products deployed in customer sites, along with internal researchers. This enables administrators to select different mechanisms for processing traffic based on the reputation of the source IP.
 

SecureWeb SME wins @ Homes4U

Secure Computing’s SecureWeb SME Content Management suite installed at Homes4U Estate Agents was recently put to the test when a high volume Spam attack was launched. In the space of a 12 hour period the company received in excess of 73,000 spam e-mails with diverse content and targeted at valid user e-mail addresses.

Homes4U’s users have become accustomed to an almost Zero Spam environment since the introduction of the WebWasher, and this was no different during the Spam attack, with no elevated levels of Spam reaching user’s mailboxes. The only notable effect of the attack was a notification to the Administrator to say there might be a small delay in processing mails due to the high volume of e-mail being received. As Homes4U have a high profile Internet presence, and place great reliance on e-mail and internet based services, the protection and performance is key to their business.
